I’m continuing with the non-motorcycle posts as I prepare for a reporting trip that begins THIS Friday. Today, I had to run some errands in Seattle, and I decided to carry the camera I’ll be using in South Africa, the Canon 5D Mark III. I wanted to see how the camera did if I put it on auto-everything and just responded to things I saw. I’m most interested in how quickly the lens can focus and how accurately the camera interprets complex color and exposure situations.
The camera is stellar. I’m still figuring out the auto-focus system, but the exposure and color are simply amazing. All of these pictures are pretty much as they were when they came out of the camera.
