Visit to a motorcycle graveyard

This weekend I went to an interesting place. It’s essentially a motorcycle salvage business north of Seattle, WA. Bent Bike sells a variety of motorcycle parts and accessories. They buy and sell a lot of used motorcycles and motorcycle parts. I was looking for a screw that had fallen out of the faring on my Concours. I was hoping to find something for a few pennies that would cost several dollars if I went to the Kawasaki dealer.

I didn’t find what I was looking for. What I found was a pretty good resource for part and accessory needs. I’m sure I’ll be back at some point in the future.

The other thing I found were a lot of wrecked motorcycles and broken parts. It’s difficult to reconcile the feelings associated with shiny new motorcycles with the broken and rusted heaps that are in the yard behind Bent Bike. It was a lot like finding the dead bodies of once beautiful animals.
